It is all about location and Reeleasy charter has some of the best fishing grounds available. Being based in Brisbane and only minutes from the Brisbane CBD, some of the richest and most diverse fishing grounds are ours for the fishing. An absolute smorgasboard of fishing delights.
Whether you are searching for a leisurely reef fishing experience or a game fishing adventure, Reel Easy Charter already know the perfect fishing spot.
Areas that we cover include but are not limited to are Hutchinson Shoal and Deep Tempest, which are located off Cape Moreton as well as Caloundra Wide, located of course off Caloundra.
Moreton Bay is a popular fishing are with the fertile grounds providing a constant reward. Combined with our local knowledge you will soon be catching and or even better releasing some great fish. Reel Easy is launched from Scarborough boat harbour which is located right near the Scarborough Reef, a well known and productive snapper haunt. Castlereagh Point is noted for good fishing performing even better at night, catches include snapper, sweetlip, cod, bream, flathead and occasional school mackerel.
Heading out to Bribie Island and the shipping channels can provide some extreme fun with game fish such as yellowtail kingfish, cobia, spotted mackerel and tuna. Out on the 40-m mark we have the Bribie Banks, they stretch between Bribie Island and Moreton Island and are home to sailfin, and small black marlin between December and April.
There is an extensive reef that extends out from Cape Moreton including Flinders Reef and Hutchison Shoal. Sunken wrecks and other material has been laid to aid in the reefs with fish being plentiful, the reef extends south-east through the Brennan and Roberts shoals, Shallow Tempest, Deep Tempest and Henderson Rock. Reef fish are abundant, snapper, sweetlip, teraglin and amberjack are reasonably common. Summer brings spanish mackerel and the autumn dolphin fish, wahoo, sailfish, juvenile black marlin and tuna are just some of the opportunities that an angler has in these waters from December to April.
A newly completed underwater survey of the seafloor of Moreton Bay has uncovered a closely guarded secret fishing wonderland in the form of a huge sinkhole. Centred roughly between Mud Island and Moreton Island this huge sink hole the size of ANZ Stadium is rumoured to be the home of some huge breeding populations of fish. Highly regarded species such as snapper, flathead, whiting and mangrove jack are in abaundance with some truly trophy sized specimens amoung them.
